LUSH First Impression - Veganese
Unfortunately it’s hard for me to love Lush’s hair care because my hair is so crazy. I use another brand of conditioner and so far, I’m liking Cynthia Sylvia Stout most. Godiva made me sad because it just doesn’t hold up like the other solids.
Retread was a big failure for me. It was watery and thin and just slipped straight out of my hair. I’ve used American Cream and that wasn’t terrible, but I wouldn’t use it regularly. And Craig loves Veganese.
Here’s a question for you Lushies. I personally don’t have a major opinion here. What do you all think of the use of sulfates in their hair care?
What kind of hair do you have?
As for the sulfates, I took a look at my bottle of shampoo that isn’t LUSH branded, and the second and third ingredients are sulfates, when the 7th ingredient in Veganese is. It’s comparatively less, but I don’t really have a problem with it. I’m also a male with short hair that is cut a lot more frequently than females.
Retread should be thick like yogurt, sounds like you received a bad batch! As for the SLS we use at Lush, it’s actually derived from Coconut Oil, however there is a chemical reaction that is used to process it into SLS. I’ve been strictly on LUSH hair care for 3 years and LOVE IT. Veganese is my personal favorite conditioner, but I have very thin hair and don’t need much at all. I would suggest trying the Curly Wurly shampoo. It’s loaded with moisturizing coconut, smells delicious, and for thinner hair, doesn’t always require an additional conditioner.
